10 Must Have Free iPhone Apps For Moms

These are my favorite iPhone apps, because they work really well around my lifestyle as a busy Mom.
White Noise: If you have an infant, who refuses to go to sleep, this might just be what you need. It has sounds of the Ocean waves, rain, train tract, fan, thunder storm, chirping crickets. Seth is almost 3, and he loves to fall asleep to the ocean waves crashing on the beach sound.
TMZ: TMZ? Yes. I never spend money buying magazines. Anytime I wait in a line at the grocery store, I just flip through the magazines to get a quick snapshot of the latest celebrity gossips. I still enjoy flipping through the magazines, but TMZ app is just as good. TMZ's style is different and blunt the way they deliver the celebrity news, which I enjoy.
Flashlight: We may not all carry a flashlight in our purse, but we rarely go anywhere without our phone. It fills the screen with bright light to illuminate your surrounding in a dark spot. It's nice to have any extra safety assurance, when we're with our kids.
Amazon: You've been needing to shop for a new stroller or the latest Xbox game for your teen, but haven't had the time to even shop online. Well here's your answer, just shop, read reviews, check order status, while waiting to pick up your kid from school or at the doctors. There is a new feature Amazon Remembers, that allows you to take pictures of products you see which you would like to buy, and will even find you similar products on the web. Pretty nifty.
To Do's: Well we all have one or several of these. Heck at times I feel like my mind is in a constant to do list rotation! The app is a great way to manage your to do list. The color codes makes it easy to prioritize your tasks according to importance, and you can edit too.
Web MD: You're at a park, and your kid develops some unusual rash. If you want to quickly check what it might be, you can check the symptoms, and what to do next, right on your phone. It's also good to get some quick first aid information, while you're waiting on the emergency service.
All Recipes: It may not have all the recipes, but they're continuously updating. It's nice to have access to some great time saving recipes right on the palm of your hands.
Mapquest: Thanks to Mapquest, I've survived driving and finding places without a navigation system. Even before I had iPhone, I would just print out the directions from Mapquest. Now the same feature is available as an app, if you are really used to Mapquest. Although iPhone comes with Google map already.
Wikipedia: Do you have a very curious preschooler, who asks more questions than you have answers for; well just search for it in Wikipedia, better than Google! It's a great opportunity for both you and your kid to learn.
YouTube: This comes with the phone. This app was part of potty training for Seth. I used it as an incentive for my toddler to sit in the potty, as I'd put some Thomas the Tank Engine or Madagascar clip from YouTube. It worked great, as long as the clip was playing, he'd sit on the potty!
What are some of your favorite Mommy iPhone apps?
I'm Shreejana Hickman, and I began the blog, Travel Bargain Mama to assist moms, families, and any travel enthusiasts, find the ultimate travel bargains available, family and or kid friendly activities throughout the US, around the world, or in your local area. I currently live in Atlanta with my husband Scott, and our 2 year old son Seth. All of us love traveling, and take every opportunity to do so. Before having Seth, I worked in consumer and small business banking for 6 years, and I have a degree in finance from Kennesaw State University. Throughout college projects, and my career in banking, I've always been focused on saving money for my clients and businesses. Now I intend to do the same for my readers through this blog.
